The Day Vault is published by Coriolan Ventures LLC, a Florida limited liability company. By using thedayvault.com or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not subscribe.
What you get
A free daily email containing a story about something that happened on that date, in the subject categories you selected. We may change the format, the schedule, the categories, or stop publishing entirely, at any time and without notice.
How the stories are written
Our stories are researched and drafted with the assistance of artificial intelligence and reviewed before publication. We work from historical sources and we try hard to get dates, names, and facts right — but history is contested, sources disagree, and automated systems make mistakes.
Treat The Day Vault as general interest reading, not as a reference. Do not rely on it for academic, legal, financial, medical, or professional purposes without checking a primary source. If you spot an error, write to us — we will correct it.
Advertising and affiliate links
The newsletter contains paid advertising and affiliate links. If you buy something through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We also run sponsorships sold through our email provider's advertising network.
An advertisement is not an endorsement. We do not test, vet, or guarantee advertisers' products, and we are not responsible for what any advertiser or merchant does. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
Our content
The text, images, and design of The Day Vault are owned by Coriolan Ventures LLC or used under licence. You are welcome to forward an issue to a friend or quote a short passage with attribution and a link. You may not republish issues in full, scrape the site, or use our content to train machine-learning models without written permission.
Acceptable use
Do not subscribe someone else's address without their permission, submit automated or fraudulent signups, attempt to interfere with the site, or use the service to break the law.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE NEWSLETTER WILL BE ERROR-FREE, HISTORICALLY COMPLETE, OR DELIVERED WITHOUT INTERRUPTION.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CORIOLAN VENTURES LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON THE CONTENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). The newsletter is free; this limit reflects that.

Ending it
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. We may remove any subscriber at any time, for any reason, including inactivity or abuse.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and continuing to read the newsletter after that means you accept the update.
